Happy Birthday, Edward Gorey

A year ago, some of our favorite people gathered together in our living room in Vancouver, Washington, and stood with Lithus and me while we got married. It was midnight. We were in front of a fire. The Lovely Cats performed the ceremony. It was small; it was peaceful; it was right.

This last year has been anything but small. It hasn't been peaceful. It has been right. And I wouldn't have spent it with anyone else ~ or anywhere else, if doing it differently meant I wasn't with Lithus.

So lift a glass today or tonight and drink to Edward Gorey. It is his birthday, after all.

Those are Pobble Thoughts. That and a buck fifty will get you coffee.

Happy birthday, Edward Gorey. And more importantly, happy anniversary to you and Lithus! Y'all have had a hell of a year. Hope the next one is more peaceful (but still exciting).

To Mr. Gorey, who spent his later years not far from me on Cape Cod. And Happy Anniversary to you and Lithus!

CrackerLilo ~ You know, you've been with me the longest in terms of readership? Thanks for the good wishes. Your lips, Her ears. ;)

Cam Pike ~ Still wish you had been able to be there that night and still grateful you understood/understand why you weren't. Kisses.

Nemeria ~ Crazy, isn't it? It really doesn't feel like a year.

Wolfgrrrl ~ We'll take the juice and set a rain date for the wine. ;)

GOML! ~ Thank you. Here's hoping for them!

Congratulations Pobble! Wow - a year already. But then again, it's been quite a year, eh? :)

Hope it only gets better from here for both you and Lithus. Mr. Gorey has already had his run . . .
