Sunday Poll Question

So, I'm rushed for time today but I don't want to miss a Sunday Poll Question when it's only the second one back. Thus, I'm kinda stealing something from GNightGirl (thanks, Lori!) because I don't have a lot of time to be creative. Last week, she asked her readers to write their own obituaries if they dared. I won't go quite this far and ask you to write a full obit (I'm rushed for time, too, afterall) but I will ask you...

Question - What would you like your epitath to read? If you could choose what gets written on your tombstone, what would it say? (And feel free to add as much to this as you'd like; you want to write the full obit, go right ahead. If not, just the epitath is fine.)

Pobble Answer - I have known for a long time that I wanted to die at 86 years old because I was shot by a jealous wife. And please note, I say nothing about the age of the wife. ;) I have also known I wanted to have an obit that was either a mile long or left out HUGE amounts of information because it was too long to write. And my epitath? I'd like that to read "It Was All True." Let it mean whatever you'd like.

Your answer...

Those are Pobble Thoughts (with some help from GNightGirl.) That and a buck fifty will get you coffee.

Epitah: "She did not reach for the stars but landed on the moon and stole it from the sky."

hmmm, an epitah?

perhaps this (if it's not too long for a tombstone):
But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don't take yourself too seriously - take God seriously.

Oooh, I saw this on Lori's blog but I couldn't do it!

An epitath...hmmmm. You know, I'd really like to see what Spider, Kimber or Pol would write for me, that would seem FAR more interesting than anything I could put together.
:)

(and I REALLY like yours!)

In fact, I recently wrote what I wish to have published as my death notice. Not too short, not too long. Doesn't quite fit the story I was told about the widow of the Scot who died, when told that a death notice cost $0.40 per word, suggested: "Harry died." When told that the minimum was six words, she asked to add: "Truck for sale". Apart from the biographical, education and career details not to be given here, it describes me as "a musician, hunter, Mensan, rock hound, handy man, pilot, churchman, wood worker and potter with loves of family, learning and travel".

A full obit would be fun, but time consuming, so . . . for a small epitath: It never got weird enough for me.

I actually like yours better.

I hope to die old and in my sleep. Since I don't have a choice in that I would like to be remembered by the following:

A dedicated friend and companion, that enriched the lives of those surrounding her.

For the love of dog.

That said, I hope that I am buried in an unmarked grave, in a pine box in the woods where I can decompose and become part of the earth.

My epitaph:

"He lived an interesting life and made life interesting for others."

"See you next time" for epitath.

Pobble, I left my computer alone for a few days, but wanted you to know I'm gonna check out GNGirl's page today. And, I'm a bit slow, is TTG "thank the goddess"?

Dreamer ~ Lovely.

Lovely Cats ~ Probably too long for a tombstone BUT! I will ensure it is said, either before we meet up again or once we do.

Tai ~ So...tell Wolgrrrl, SpiderGirl and/or Pol to get their butts over here and write it. Make sure they write theirs as well. ;)

Appsrus ~ Add "dear and trustworthy friend" and I think all that is good.

$$ ~ And I hope it never does. ;)

Graziella ~ Nice as well as appropriate.

D-Man ~ Ooo! A good one! I think you will like GNG. And yes, TTG is indeed "thank the Goddess" so not so slow, afterall. ;)

For Tai:

"Damnit, girl, NOW how are we supposed to get in for free?"

For me:

"I am the waves upon the water, the light upon the ocean. I am the cry of birds, the warmth of sunlight, the whisper of wind in the leaves. I am not gone, my friends. Sing and rejoice, for I am all around you."

Hmmm...this is rough because I want to be cremated. I'm afraid it would have to be something pretty smart ass.

Cam Pike ~ Sorry I didn't respond here to you. In my head, I had...until I realized that was the email I sent you. Ah, the Pobble...

Kimber ~ These are both great! Yours actually made me a little teary.

Aisha ~ Truth is, I plan on being cremated as well. But something's gotta go on the box, right? ;)

My epitaph: "Stand back you! I'm about to bust outa this box! And the first sumbitch dumb enough to be standing close, I'm gonna EAT HIS BRAINS!" I can't wait.

Wow I have never thought about this issue before. Yours was interesting. Let's see- Love killed her....
Simply put, when you give yourself to others so much because of love, stress and not concentrating on yourself healthwise will kill you.

Rose ~ Please, let the love you have for yourself be strong enough to save you.
