It (More or Less) Sounded Like This:

Pobble And Lithus

February 22, 2009
Midnight

Introduction and Declaration of Intent

We gather here tonight to honor relationships: the relationship between Lithus and Pobble, the relationships that we have with them, and the relationships that we share with others in our lives especially those who love Lithus and Pobble but could not be here physically tonight and especially those whom Lithus and Pobble love but who are gone from this life: RoseAnna, Rex, Roark, and all the others who have helped shape them into the people that they are.

Each of us has a unique relationship with Lithus and Pobble; after all, they are unique people. It is what has brought us all together now as friends and family of these two people who are so important to us that we might offer our blessing to what they are about to do.

Lithus – Pobble, that you found each other means that there is something both very right with the universe and something slightly askew which is exactly how it should be. So as we honor the wonder of your love for one another I ask you…

Lithus, will you take Pobble, the person that she is and the person she is yet to become, to be your wife, to love her, cherish her, and care for her? Will you be her partner, her friend, and her lover? Will you laugh with her and cry with her? Will you stand beside her and support her in all that life brings until you are parted by death?
I will

And Pobble, will you take Lithus, the person that he is and the person he is yet to become, to be your husband, to love him, cherish him, and care for him? Will you be his partner, his friend, and his lover? Will you laugh with him and cry with him? Will you stand beside him and support him in all that life brings until you are parted by death?
I will
And those of us gathered here with Lithus and Pobble will we promise to love, support, and care for these two people in their lives together?
We will.

Exchanging of Vows and Handfasting

This is a sacred thing; it is made sacred by the love and commitment that Lithus and Pobble have for one another. We celebrate this sacred love because it has pulled the two of you together. It has wrapped itself around you and has refused to let you go. It honors the fact that each of you is a unique and whole person; you don’t need the other to be complete in who you both are. Instead this sacred love has found a way to tie you each other in bonds that don’t constrict or hinder either of you from being who you are but instead these bonds make you stronger because they hold you together.

It is sacred love that has brought you to this moment of commitment and promise to one another. So with hands bound I invite you to speak those words of love and commitment.

I promise to love you Pobble in all that you are and support all that you have yet to become. I will stand by you for all of the things that the universe offers us, whether they are good or by your back when they are not. For all that we are now and might become together, I offer myself to you as your partner and your friend.

I promise to love you, Lithus, for everything you are and everything you will become. I promise to be honest with you, to share my dreams and goals, while supporting you and yours. I will stand by your side when times are good and at your back when they are not. For all that you are, all that I am, and all that we can be together, I offer myself as your partner and friend.

Giving of the Rings

May these rings be an ever-present symbol of the joy and love you have in one another.

Announcement of Marriage

Lithus and Pobble, it is my honor to pronounce that by the promises that you have made this night you are now joined together as husband and wife.

That all looks and sounds stellar. Congratulations again, and I was hoping you would post both the pics and the vows. Nice work and it sounds like it went as well as it possibly could have, which is never easy.

Cam Pike ~ That pretty much sums it up, yes. :*

Graziella ~ You were missed. Know that.

Nemeria ~ You know everything I would say so...there you go.

Pharmyard ~ Thank you. And no, don't confuse the cats. We've already had Lionel peeing everywhere in his confusion; no need to add to the animal trauma. And lots of love back to you.

GOML! ~ I'll let you know when we have the celebration for the rest of my east coast family. Maybe you can crash that one. ;)

$$ ~ It was actually flawless considering the clusterfuckiness of the week prior. Of course, since there were really no rules, it couldn't help but be so. And thank you. It was beautiful.

GNightGirl ~ Thank you. Thank you so much.

Well, this proves it.... one does not actually, physically have to be at the wedding TO CRY LIKE A LITTLE GIRL.

*sob*

Congratulations, you two, and may your future together be long, healthy, and full of whatever fun your hearts desire. :)
