Speechless...

...And thankful.

Those are Pobble Thoughts. That and a buck fifty will get you your country back.

I think hope just returned to the country. In talking with some of my foreign co-workers there were cheers in Australia & Europe as well.

Plenty of cheers from the Great White North, too. I'm so very happy to see Obama win - hurray!

The hub and I bought some snacks, put Petunia to bed and sat together on the couch watching election results like our lives depended on it...'cause, they kind of do. I had tears in my eyes listening to Obama's acceptance speech. But he's right, the work has only just begun. We, as a nation, voted for hope because we believed what Obama has said he will do. Now we need to pray that he can follow through so that the hope becomes reality.

PS:
My word verification is "rally"

Cam Pike ~ Lithus and I were talking today about how very telling it is that the rest of the world is celebrating as well.

Lovely Cats ~ Nope. It's real. God help him.

Wolfgrrrl ~ Read my comment to Cam Pike. ;) We might be getting there.

Jersey ~ I hear you. I *so* hear you.

I'm going to say something a bit out of character (which I don't necessarily agree with.)

After the idiot in chief lied to get us to invade Iraq. After "they" voted him back into office out of fear and stupidity. After deregulation widened the gap between have & have not's. After years of fiscal irresponsibility where we've simultaneously increased spending & lowered taxes. After the republican spin-machine tried to use McCarthy-style guilt by association tactics and cold-war anti-socialism rhetoric.

After some religious-right, bigot actually insisted Obama is a Muslim to my face to try to sway me...

I say to my republican friends, "suck it up and deal."

Still, you're right. Always fight hate with love. And I love my country.
