I am a New Englander, a Southerner, my own woman, Rex's daughter, a quivering mass of contradictions. Nothing here means any more or less than you want it to mean. This and a buck fifty will get you coffee. But it's me. And I really like that.
I awoke to this news this morning. It has had me rattled all day. I really hope that Americans understand the far reaching ramifications of this, and how it could affect the entire world.
Mr. jaded and I were talking this morning, hoping that Bush et al aren't able to use this to their advantage, like "We have intelligence reports that indicate Iran was behind this assassination, so we're going to have to use force in that nation." It may seem far fetched, but is it really?
There are two girls who live down the hall from me who live in Dubai...I'm not quite sure if they went home for the winter break or if they staid with friends in the states...all I know is, I hope they're safe.
Funny tho- I just read the Parade from a couple of weeks ago (don't say it, I know) and lo and behold, a picture and article about Bhutto was front and center. It was a mixed bag and I was a bit disturbed to read about some of her more ruthless qualities- ie. possibly having her brother murdered and skimming over 1 million dollars from humane aid to her country when she was in power! She may have been the Democratic hope but she was power mad too!

I'm sick to my stomach over it.
Tragic news. I don't know what to say, except that I feel like a light has gone out. Musharaf will suspend the election now, just watch.
This is so sad! I heard about this at work. It actually shocked me.
This is a terrible tradegy. We better wake up and watch what our goverment has to say.
Very sad day for wor world.
i pray for her family and all those who hoped in her.
Jaded ~ I don't think your scenario is far-fetched at all. Sadly.
GOML! ~ Yes, that light-has-gone-out feeling is one we share. It's just such a waste.
Rose ~ It literally took my breath away as well.
Nancy ~ I'm more than a little scared about what the US reaction will be.
Lovely Cats ~ As do we all, I think.
I feel sick; heartsick, bodysick, mindsick.

Wolfgrrrl ~ Yep, that about sums it up.
Dreamer ~ Keep me posted on your friends. I hope you had a good holiday. Congratulations on the win yesterday. :)
Horrible- interesting that you are one of the first blogs I've read to address it! She had some courage!
Akakarma ~ The thing that disturbs me is how few people truly realize the long-term effect this has had on the world. *sigh*
