Um....

So, yesterday there were huge numbers of protests around the country. People brought tea bags. Lots of history here, obviously, plus they were wise enough to incorporate a very modern acronym: T.E.A for Taxed Enough Already. Only...someone, somewhere dubbed it "teabagging." So all these protesters spent all day yesterday...teabagging their legislators.

Um....Are you gonna tell 'em? 'Cause I'm not gonna be the one to tell 'em.

Those are Pobble Thoughts. That and a buck fifty will get you coffee.

Nah, I won't say anything. It'll be funnier when they figure it out.

Are these the Republican protests I've heard about?

Pobble, teabagging...HA!

Dennis, I know quite a few Democrats and Libertarians who attended as well. I realize that it's being portrayed as a Republican thing, but it isn't. The majority of the people there may have been Republican, but a large group of other party members are also tired of working 103 days a year to pay their taxes.

BTW, I'm a Libertarian, just so you know. And I didn't go to a Tea Party either, although I wanted to and had a sick child instead.

I wondered about this. If I was on the organizing committee, this would never have happened. But it is kind of funny. I'm gonna go and teabag my member of parliament.

HAHA!

I can't think of a single member of the legislature that I'd like to teabag... oh wait, there IS that hot Freshman Republican Aaron Schock. I'd probably have a shot in the airport restroom on the way to an anti-gay conference...

It was obviously a gay man with a sense of humor that suggested the term and gleefully watched it go viral at the protests...

Maybe just hand them a pamphlet. With illustrations.

It's always better when the person/group doesn't know & it totally invested without realizing the subverted meaning. Ha.

I was fine with these things (even though I had no desire to attend) as I figure most countries would either shoot you or throw you in jail for lodging them, so we're pretty lucky.

The guy who sits in the cube next to me is Russian. He was talking about it this morning and me and another co-worker were laughing and he had no idea why. I didn't have the heart to tell him.

How many people actually knew what it was and went ahead and said it? Ton of college students I know did!

I could not believe my ears when the radio news person said the protesters were "Teabagging" government official!
The protesters should of checked the 'Urban Dictionary' before naming their cause.
It made me laugh

Why is everyone assuming that none of these people really knew what they were saying? In gaming and in sports, the termed "teabagging" (yes I know what it is) is used specifically when wanting to own (pwn) someone. I dunno, the term kind of says "Eff you! You don't control us! Take this!" Thus the "teabaggng." There were a lot of tea bags hanging from doorknobs and trees...it was quite funny.

People come up with all kinds of ways to protest.
