It's Official

I am now a resident of the state of Washington. Yeah, I was supposed to do it a little sooner, I admit it. First I wanted to make sure this whole living-with-Lithus thing was going to work and I wasn't going to be moving home in a week. But, honestly, a larger part of it was I just wasn't ready to not be a resident of Massachusetts yet. My Mass plates and driver's license were really important. I am, afterall, the Boston Pobble.

Here we are, though. I'm a long way from home yet...I'm here. Officially. And it's good.

Those are Pobble Thoughts. That and a buck fifty will get you coffee.

Congrats... Mr. Jaded took ages to do the very same thing, so I understand.

You're now the Boston-ish Pobble. Your spirit may still be in Boston, but your heart and soul just live a little farther west than that.

Identity...

Why is so much of our identity wrapped up in where we live and what we do for a living?

Dare I quote the words of that misogynist pig who exclaimed "I am who you say I am?" Nay! Instead, lets stick with the spinach gobbler "I yam what I yam!" Or better yet, my favorite fool of all time who said, "To thine own self be true."

I'll always be from Philly, so you can be Boston Pobble for as long as you so choose.

May you find new blessings and new understandings of self as you accept your new home and it accepts you.

You will always be the Boston Pobble, wherever you live. SELFISHLY, Washington brings you closer to ME, which makes me happy.

Welcome to Washington Pobble. It's lovely to have you here. I like Jaded's words.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! WOOOO!!!!

Considering that it took me and L'Ailee 12 years to even agree on which state we could both live in, I completely understand your foot-dragging. :-)

Jaded ~ Why am I not surprised to hear about Mr. Jaded? lol

Lrns ~ It is interesting that it happens this way, isn't it? You may (or may not) remember that my father was Deeply tied to his Texas roots, wherever he happened to be living. You and the Lovely Cats are from Philly, Period. Me and Boston. And yet I also know people who are attached to any particular place at all. Honestly, the latter is harder for me to understand than the former. And thank you for the blessings!

Wolfgrrrl ~ Howdy! :)

Lovely Cats ~ Ah, thank you for the reminder! Feel free to throw that one back at me whenever I get homesick! {{{TLC}}}

Zooom ~ And there are Definitely worse things than being closer to You!

Tai ~ Neighbor! And yes, I'm enjoying it so far.

Traci ~ Thanks. I too like Jaded's words. Of course, I almost always like Jaded's words.

Congrats on loving your move!

I completely understand missing your "home" state. I recently moved to North Carolina from Illinois and it took us several (illegal) months to change licenses and plates.

But you sound very happy and that's soooo important!

Living with Lithus...sinner...LOL! (Saturady Night Live...)

I couldn't WAIT to change all my Florida stuff. I was NEVER a Floridian! Pft!

Hey, congrats on more than just the DL and tag. It's the entire "in between the lines" thing that this just might work out for you. :)

Momo ~ Thanks for understanding! Glad I'm not alone in putting it off.

Krystal ~ Oh yeah. I'm going to hell. ;) And yes, the between the lines stuff is nice, too!

I'm glad you're happy, but I like the Bostonpobble tag and now it seems diluted. Ha.

Regardless, I would keep the license plate.

$$ ~ I hear you. It's a both-and situation. I'm happy to be with Lithus, I'm happy to be happy ~ and I miss Massachusetts and Boston! Sadly, I'm not allowed to keep the plates (otherwise they would become permanent decoration in my office!) MA requires you to return them as proof you are no longer registered there. *sigh*
