Section 31 of the Questions and Answers on Title IX and Single-Sex Elementary and Secondary
31. How do the Title IX requirements on single-sex classes
apply to transgender students?
Answer: All students, including transgender students and
students who do not conform to
sex stereotypes, are protected from sex-based discrimination
under Title IX. Under Title IX,
a recipient generally must treat transgender students
consistent with their gender identity
in all aspects of the planning, implementation, enrollment,
operation, and evaluation of
single-sex classes.
And it applies to any elementary, middle, or secondary schools that receive public monies.
There's still so much work to do ~ and it's nice to post something positive.
Those are Pobble Thoughts. That and a buck fifty will get you coffee.
