Instead of a Comment

1. I have added new links. These are not every blog I have read. They are the ones that have touched me, moved me, made me think, made me love. I won't make that comment to all of them. I hope they read it here.

Those are Pobble (and Nemeria's, Cats's, CrackerLilo's, GMH's, Jaded's and DonDon's)Thoughts. That and a buck fifty will get you coffee.

Thank you, dear Pobble. We agree on some stuff, and not so much on others, but that's what makes people think! I enjoy intelligent discussion!

I know you're in Boston and that you're a writer. I'm just wondering if you've ever run across an old friend of mine, Joshua Legg. He's in Boston, he's a writer, a public speaker and part of an organization that advocates for gay marriage rights. Just wondering.

Thanks for your comment over at my place. I also try to be objective. And while I absolutely understand the anger and frustration...and while I'd absolutely like to blame someone or something for this devastation, what good does any of that do? Do the starving, suffering people in that region benefit from me sitting on my fat ass in my big, comfy home trying to find someone to blame? Nope. I rant like that for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is trying to get people to stop and think. I have been saying for a very long time that the problem doesn't lie with Republicans OR Democrats...it lies with both. Government has become the biggest business on earth, and at our expense. The rhetoric is always the same. When Clinton was in office, the Republicans said the same things about him that the Dems say about Bush. Both have good points, and both have bad. Often, however, people don't recognize that. They become a cheerleader for whichever part represents them without stopping to truly analyze the situation. that makes me nuts!

In a situation like this one, there's already been enough inaction...we all have to take some kind of action. I don't necessarily blame the president, because he instructed FEMA to get going, and they did...but they didn't anticipate 2 catastrophes, and then they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. Inexcusable. I do not forget, however, that Mr. Brown was appointed by Mr. Bush. There's time to sort that stuff out later. Now we need to help people

Just my opinion.
